Dryden City Council has agreed in principal to take part in a project aimed at boosting tourism.
The Rainy River Future Development Corporation is leading the ‘Gateway to Canada’ initiative that would spruce up the border crossing in Fort Frances.
City Manager Arie Hoogenboom says the group is asking for $8,200 to take part in the creation of a mural-welcome to Canada sign, and a message board that would flash community events.
A letter of support has been submitted, but Council is looking at partnering with Ignace and Machin.
