A bomb threat at Canada Safeway in Dryden caused some anxious moments Friday.
Someone called the store around 1 o’clock claiming they had planted a bomb in the store.
Police Chief Rob Davis says the store as well as some nearby homes and businesses were immediately evacuated and displaced shoppers and Safeway employees took up shelter at the Dryden Memorial Arena.
The OPP Explosives Unit searched the building and no bomb was found.
People were allowed back in the store around 2:30.
Davis says they are now investigating and are attempting to trace of the number.
