Dryden Police are reporting another scam, this time with claims of a computer virus.
Police say on Wednesday they received a call from a victim who reported that they were defrauded a sum of money by someone claiming to be a Microsoft technician.
Police then say the so-called technician then claimed the victim’s computer had a computer virus and they would have to be paid a fee to remove it.
Dryden Police say if you receive a call, email or text that your computer has a virus, DO NOT call the number listed and do not provide personal info over the phone.
It is a scam and it is unlikely that your computer is affected, but if you feel it may be, take your computer to a local technician for servicing.
