Dryden Youth Soccer Moving Forward With Multi-Purpose Building

A new multi-purpose building at the North Dryden Soccer complex will soon be a reality.

Dryden Youth Soccer spokesperson Gary Nickle says they are hoping to break ground in Spring 2016.

Nickle says they have raised roughly $287,000 for the project and fundraising continues.

He notes the response from the community has been outstanding, with strong partnerships with the City, the Rotary Club and several businesses including Dufresne

Nickle says they are looking for additional City support on a couple of fronts.

The organization is asking the City to off-set some of the costs for the water and sewer connection as well as build a road from the parking lot to the building.

Nickle is also seeking permission to prepay yearly fees for the next five years and is asking for that money to be put towards the building.

Total capital costs are pegged at $300,000-$350,000, while yearly operating costs are expected to be in the range of $9,100.

There were 475 kids in Dryden Youth Soccer last year and Nickle notes shelter and washrooms are badly needed for players and parents.
