While it was a struggle for most Northwestern Ontario town in 2007, Ear Falls experienced a minor boom. Mayor Ron Bergman says a busy construction season at the Ontario Power Generation Plant and upgrades to Highway 105 all fueled the local economy, and notes it was a busy year for Council as well – with the hiring of a new Clerk-Treasurer and a decision to reduce taxes to the Whispering Pines Seniors Centre by 40 per cent
