Ear Falls School Rebuild Confirmed In Capital Plan

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has allocated $28-million in capital spending this school year.

Superintendent of Business Richard Findlay says the total is much higher compared to previous years.

There are two big ticket items including a nearly $5-million rebuild of Ear Falls Public School.

Findlay says it’s a total school renovation, noting they will also be re-doing all of the plumbing and HVAC systems.

Nearly $6-million will go to renovations of the Tech Wing, parking lot and football field at Beaver Brae High School in Kenora.

Findlay notes a number of schools will receive a facelift with roof replacements and the installation of tunable LED light systems.

The fire alarms will be replaced at Dryden High School and work on an Outdoor Learning Classroom will be carried out at Open Roads and Lillian Berg in Vermilion Bay.
