Ear Falls School Rebuild Highlights 2018-2019 Capital Plan

A total rebuild of Ear Falls Public School highlights a busy capital budget for the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board in 2018-2019.

Work is expected to begin in January at a cost of $4.4-million.

Superintendent of Business Richard Findlay says they are planning upgrades to Sioux Mountain Public School as well.

The Board plans to spend roughly $2-million to establish an extra Child Care space at the school.

Findlay says they have received provincial grants to enhance child care opportunities in Sioux Lookout.

Work is expected to be completed this Fall.

The Board is also retrofitting the Technology wing at Beaver Brae Secondary in Kenora to the tune of about $2.4-million.

The public board has approved the installation of tunable LED lighting to replace fluorescent lights at all of its schools.

The goal is to make the classroom for conducive to learning.
