Health officials say the flu has arrived in Ontario and people
are being urged to get a flu shot.
Ontario has reported nearly 1,100 positive tests for the
seasonal flu, compared to less than 400 at this point during a
normal flu season.
By comparison, the province had reported 7,600 positive
tests at this point last year during the H-1-N-1 pandemic.
Preliminary figures suggest about one-quarter of Ontario
residents have received a flu shot, compared with 35% in normal years and 45% during last year’s pandemic.
