Efforts Underway To Bring Syrian Family To Dryden

The Dryden Syrian Refugee Committee is on its way to support a family of six to Dryden.

The Jandali family has been living in a refugee camp in Iraq for over two years.

They left Syria in 2013 and have been looking for a home since then.

The Jandali family consists of Mother (Shaha 39-years-old), Father (Abed 41-years-old) and four children (Omar 9-years-old, Othman 7-years-old, Mirie 5-years-old and Seela 3-years-old)

Committee Spokesperson Ghada Ibrahim says they have raised roughly $5,000 and need to secure $33,000.

Ibrahim stresses they are working hard to meet their fundraising goal.

Donations are being accepted at Our Saviour Lutheran Church and Viva Dental.

Ibrahim says she got involved because she was a refugee herself and stresses if given the right chance, they can move on and live a great life.
