Elementary Teachers in the Rainy River School District will hold
Strike Votes on Monday.
Elementary Teachers Federation President Emily Noble says a strong
strike vote indicates teachers are behind the local Union and are ready to
head back to the negotiating table.
Noble says one of the bargaining issues is that every Elementary
teacher should have 200-minutes of weekly preparation.
She adds while a strike would be the last option, the Federation is
looking at a possible work to rule campaign in March or April if there
is no movement at the table.
A strike vote will be held at the White Otter Inn in Atikokan.
