Tbaytel says a large number of its customers in northwestern Ontario didn’t receive the province-wide emergency alert system test on their cell phones Monday afternoon.
The problem is being blamed on a computer glitch on the distributor’s end, Pelmorex Weather Networks.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says he expects federal, provincial and private sector experts behind the warning system to learn from Monday’s serious glitches and correct the problems quickly.
Tbaytel says it’s also looking into the issue on their end.
