Energy Efficiency Plan for School Board

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board has signed an agreement with Honeywell Canada to try and lower operating costs at Public Schools.
The Company will install and maintain new heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to buildings owned by the Board.
Chief Financial Officer Dean Carrie says it will likely be a year before the upgrades are carried out.
Carrie says the expect to see some long term savings as a result but any short term savings will go towards the contract.
He adds that they will be looking at different energy alternatives to save money including solar and wind power.
