Evacuation Numbers Continue to Climb

The evacuation numbers from New Osnaburgh First Nation continue to grow.
195-residents are now in Sioux Lookout, while 105 are in Ignace.
Gabby Rivard of the Ministry of Natural Resources says additional evacuations will take place this afternoon. (Friday)
Rivard says their final destination hasn’t been determined as of yet.
About 1,400 people live in the First Nation.
A 23,000 hectare fire continues to blow smoke into the community.
Smoke is also reported in Red Lake.
