Evelyn Gertrude Pollard

Evelyn was born in Fort Frances, Ontario on February 29, 1944. The oldest of four daughters Evelyn was blessed with the natural ability to nurture others and loving them unconditionally and without judgement. She was a devoted wife and life long partner, and a best friend to Don for 42 years. She was a special mother to Donald, Darrell and Teri. Evelyn was the source of love, guidance and inspiration to her family. The family expanded to include Jocelyne and Paul and later the grandchildren: Melissa and Christine, Yves, Kevin and Amy, and Mikey. She was the rock and foundation of the family. Evelyn was a favourite aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Her home was always open being a warm, safe place for either family or friends. To her younger siblings: Linda (Roy) Anderson, Maureen (Mike) Fritz and Helen (Ted) Thomas she was a friend, Confidant and source of endless support and love. Evelyn loved fishing, hunting, bingo, card games and family get ogethers. She grew up in Vermilion Bay and lived the surrounding area all of her life. Evelyn passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2002 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre. A memorial service was held in the Vermilion Bay United Church celebrating Evelyn’s life Friday November 8, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. with pastors Wayne and Harry Toews officiating.
