Recent rain has dropped the forest fire hazard to low in the Kenora District, but there has still been a fair amount of fire activity in the far north.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are currently 32-active wildfires in the region.
Eight of those started up Wednesday.
There are a cluster of lightning caused fires in the Webequie area.
Other new fires are located near the remote communities of Big Trout Lake, Poplar Hill and the Deer Lake First Nation.
None of those blazes are under control, but pose no problems.
