Hydro One and the Power Workers’ Union have announced that union members have voted 87% in favour of a new two-year contract.
Utility President Mayo Schmidt says the agreement recognizes the important contributions their employees make in providing safe, reliable power and exceptional customer service.
Union President Mel Hyatt says they take pride on working with employers to provide job security for their membership as well as delivering improvements and stability over the course of the agreement.
The deal impacts some 4,000 front-line workers in Ontario.
Terms of the contract aren’t being released as both sides have agreed to a media blackout.
