Federal Conservative leader Andrew Scheer is promising to work more closely with First Nations communities and leaders.
He made the promise at the recent Assembly of First Nations meeting.
However, when asked how his policies would differ from former Prime Minister Steven Harper’s, Scheer didn’t elaborate, noting his election platform will be rolled out at a later date.
Some Indigenous leaders have told Scheer that they haven’t had very positive relations with Conservatives, both at the federal and provincial levels.
