Federal Funding For Ontario First Nations

Kenora MP Bob Nault says $9.11-million in federal money to improve child and family services in Ontario First Nations communities is a step in the right direction.

Nault says health and well-being is essential to a child’s ability to succeed.

He says the money will flow directly to eligible First Nations to strengthen community-based prevention activities that will help parents access the supports they need to raise their children in safe and healthy environments.

The government is now working with the province and First Nations partners to reach an agreement on how the money should be spent.
