The Federal government is out with funding to fill available jobs through the Canada Job Grant program.
The announcement was made Monday in Dryden by Minister of Employment and Social Development Pierre Polievere.
The Domtar mill has received $20,000 to train nine employees in the area of supervision.
The company is also chipping in with $11,500.
Polievere says the committment from Domtar shows they believe trained employees are valuable to their business.
Under the program, the government provides two-thirds of total eligible training costs, up to $10,000, for expenses such as tuition, textbooks and student fees.
To date, over 2,700 employees have been approved for funding to train new or current employees in the province. (Photo by: Rayson Martyn)
