Federal Program Renewed To Improve Boat Safety

The recent boating mishap in the area is something the government is trying to prevent.
The renewed Boating Safety Contribution Program is going to provide financial support to organizations who promote safe boating.
The program is aimed at reducing the loss of life and injuries, improving the availability of data for educational purposes and encourage safe boating for all people.
The government of Canada is providing up to $500,000 for projects that will take place in 2013-2014.
Last week, three men were reported missing after their boat struck a reef in the Rainy River area.
The trio was eventually found in good condition.
Northwestern Ontario has had several incidents of boat crashes and injuries this summer.
