The federal government has made an investment to help northern Ontario manufacturers better compete in the global marketplace.
FedNor is spending more than $238,000 to deliver popular training programs to local businesses committed to becoming more productive.
The money will allow for the continued delivery of the national Advancing Lean Initiatives program, offering improved productivity training to northern Ontario manufacturers.
As part of the project, the government will deliver 42 lean management training events over three years in various communities.
The only regional municipality to benefit will be Thunder Bay.
The initiative will also create opportunities for business and community leaders to share ideas and best practices, while providing a forum for learning and knowledge exchange regarding energy, health and safety, human resources and marketing.
