Finally! New Roof For Dryden Arena

The City of Dryden believes it has found a remedy to a long standing problem at the Memorial Arena.

Council has approved a new $166,000 roof replacement.

Community Services Manager Steve Belanger says the project was deemed a top priority.

The arena roof has been failing for several years, with water coming down into the office, washrooms, lobby and canteen.

Belanger says the fix will alleviate some time for staff on the maintenance side.

He adds the work should give the roof a new and healthy life of 25 to 30 years.

Belanger hopes the contractor can be on site within the next ten days, with work expected to last two or three weeks.

Belanger says water will no longer be collected on the roof as it will slope down into a drainage system.

He adds the entire complex will have one, uniformed roofing system.

Oakwood Roofing out of Winnipeg was awarded the contract.
