The large forest fire burning about 20-kilometres southwest of
Vermilion Bay hasn’t grown in size.
Ground crews and waterbombers hit the 400 hectare fire early Thursday morning.
Information Officer Travis Moffatt says they are still trying to
control the blaze.
No property has been damaged and smoke still may drift into Dryden
and Vermilion Bay the next couple of days.
149-fires are now burning in the Northwest District and 31 firefighters
have arrived from Alberta to lend a helping hand.
The Region is currently under a restricted fire zone and no outdoor
burning is allowed.
