First Mining Gold Concentrating On Sioux Lookout Area

First Mining Gold sees the Sioux Lookout as a “Hub” for their emerging company.

Chief Executive Officer Jeff Swinoga says they currently have four properties around Sioux Lookout.

The total area contains about 6 million ounces of indicated gold.

Swinoga believes each of these mines, once developed, will probably have about 300 workers.

He says they are still in the early stage of mine development.

Swinoga says the largest property they hold is Springpole, with about 5 million ounces of indicated gold at that site.

The total size of that property is more than 32,000 hectares.

Swinoga says that project will likely be the first to be developed.

He stresses consultations with community members, Indigenous leaders and municipal officials will never end.

Swinoga says they want to understand what the issues are and notes First Mining Gold is very big on listening. (File Photo)
