First Nation Agreement

It is being hailed as one of the first of its kind in Ontario.
Federal Indian Affairs Minister Bob Nault signed a framwork agreement in Fort Frances Tuesday.
The deal was inked with 8 area First Nation Chiefs on education self-governance.
When a final package is agreed on, it will allow bands to make their own rules regarding education for members living on their reserves.
