First Nation Chiefs Hoping to Agree on Energy Plan

The lack of energy infrastructure in the Far North is one of major issues facing Nishnawbe Aski Nation communities.
Deputy Grand Chief Les Louttit says the Provincial Government needs to bring First Nations into the 21st Century and onto the hydro grid.
Energy is the focus of a three day conference being put on by NAN this week in Thunder Bay.
Louttit says they want to come up with a plan by the end of the conference.
He notes many communities depend on diesel generators and wood stoves.
