First Nations Group Concerned With Anti-Terrorism Act

Anishinabek Nation communities are concerned with the Federal Conservative’s Anti-Terrorism Act.
They believe Bill C-51 fails to adequately define the term “terrorism”, allowing for CSIS to determine the discretion of enforcement, while lacking civilian oversight.
Grand Council Chief Patrick Madahbee says the legislation is a knee jerk reaction and is another step to erode rights and criminalize resistance by anybody in Canada.
Madahbee adds the government is pushing the terrorism bill through and trying to limit debate.
