The Provincial Government plans to establish advisory
councils in all of Ontario’s fishery management zones.
Northwest Region Biologist Mark Sobchuck says the
volunteer group will advise the ministry on fishery
concerns.

Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Peterborough will
serve as pilot projects this year.
Advisory Councils for the province’s remaining 17 zones
will be established over the next several years, beginning
in late 2007.
