The Regions Chief Medical Officer of Health is urging municipalities to fluorinate their drinking water.
This is the latest campaign taken on by Dr. Pete Sarsfield.
Sarsfield says most municipalities in the region have fluoride in their water, with the exception of Dryden and Atikokan.
Public debate has raged on in Atikokan whether the municipality should include fluoride in its water, while Dryden city officials temporarily took fluoride out of its water supply.
Sarsfield says equipment troubles is to blame.
Atikokan is working with the Northwestern Health Unit to stage a public meeting on the benefits of fluorinated water.
Sarsfield says the benefits highly outweigh the negatives.
