A former Marijuana Party candidate is to appear in court today (Thursday) after Police raided a growing operation just outside Thunder Bay.
Douglas MacKay, who also ran for mayor of Thunder Bay in 2006, is charged with a number of drug counts.
MacKay ran for a Federal seat as the Marijuana Party’s candidate for Thunder Bay-Rainy River in January, 2006.
Police located an outdoor operation full of 323 full size marijuana plants.
Police also seized 16 kilograms of dried marijuana.
The street value of the drugs seized is over $630,000.
