Fort Frances finally adopts 2005 budget

The municipal tax hike for residents of Fort Frances will not be as steep in 2005 as compared to last year.

Town Council has formally adopted this year’s budget which will see a 2.75 percent tax increase for residential properties.

For a homeowner with a property assessed at 100-thousand dollars, municipal taxes will go up by about 48 dollars.

As for business owners, a 1.61 percent hike is in store for commercial occupied properties.
