Another community in the region has rejected the Northwestern Health Unit so-called gold standard smoke-free bylaw.
Fort Frances Town Council turned down the bylaw because it says the community is playing on different turf than the rest of the region by being situated on the international border.
However, Mayor Glen Witherspoon says the town does intend to adopt a smoke-free bylaw prohibiting smoking in all municipal buildings and vehicles later this month.
