Fort Frances Waiting For Financial Assistance

Little is being said on when Fort Frances might know what financial assistance it will receive from the province to offset the costs of dealing with the recent flooding.
The town says it’s waiting for the province to declare Fort Frances a disaster area to get the process moving.
Natural Resources Minister Bill Mauro says it’s up to the town to make the first move.
Mauro says the municipality needs to declare their emergency and make submissions to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
Premier Kathleen Wynne says the province is in a position to be supportive.
