Fort William First Nation Has A New Chief

Fort William First Nation’s new Chief is Georjann Morriseau.
She will take office on April 15th, and says she can’t extend her thanks enough to everyone who has supported her along her journey.
She adds these are new times Fort William and while it’s going to be a challenge, she is expecting a good change.
Morriseau says she’s going to start some goal setting and find out where the First Nation is going.
Morriseau received 243 votes in Sunday’s election with runner up Michael Joseph Pelletier garnering 238.
