Four Dead in Northern Saskatchewan Town

Four people are confirmed dead, two injured and a lone suspect is in custody after a shooting spree at a high school in La Loche, Saskatchewan.

While RCMP investigated, details were confirmed by Prime Minister Trudeau, speaking in Switzerland.

“Obviously this is every parent’s worst nightmare. The community is reeling and all of us across the country.” Trudeau said “Hearts are going out to the families and to the whole community.”

Other politicians took to social media with Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall posting to Facebook and NDP leader Thomas Mulcair expressing his sorrow via Twitter

RCMP said early reports indicated five deaths but confirmed four in an early evening press conference. RCMP would not confirm ages of the victims and provided few details citing an ongoing investigation.

La Loche is a largely Denee community of about 3,000 located about 500 Km NE of Saskatoon
