Fraser Institute Raises Concerns About Government Spending

The Wynne government has a bit of a spending problem.

That’s according to the Fraser Institute, which says program spending is up about seven billion dollars compared to last year.

Author of the report, Ben Eisen says this has nothing to do with the increase in infrastructure funding promised by the Liberal government.

“Primarily spending is on day to day activities…they are not being driven by infrastructure spending or long term investments or things of that nature”.

Eisen says spending this year is up about 5.7 percent, or about twice the rate of inflation.
