The cries for help are growing louder by the day.
Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says the loss of 125-jobs at the Domtar Mill is another devastating blow and hits her right in the heart.
The Province indicated in its economic update Thursday that $40-million
will be set aside to retrain Ontario workers.
Krassilowsky says that’s not the be all and end all solution.
She stresses spending money on re-education does
little when there’s no jobs to go to.
Krassilowsky notes she will continue to work co-operatively with both
levels of government to help struggling Northern communities.
