A Winnipeg trucker faces charges after losing his load of fuel on Highway 105 Monday. Ear Falls OPP along with local emergency services responded to the “single motor vehicle collision.” A tractor trailer unit carrying bulk fuel was heading northbound to Red Lake when it veered off the Highway and rolled onto its side into the ditch. The collision caused the loaded fuel tanks to rupture spilling a large quantity of fuel. The driver was transported to Red Lake Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Ontario Ministry of Environment was contacted and the highway was shut down for a period of time while crews contained the spill. The highway has been open to one lane most of today as crews clean up the spill. 52 year old, Normand SABOURIN of Winnipeg has been charged with Careless Driving.
