Funding For Regional Hospitals

The Province is giving area Hospitals $200,000 each to upgrade equipment.

The money will be used to purchase patient lifts, electric beds and safety alarms.

Dryden Regional Health Centre CEO Andrew Skene says the funding will help cover some costs and improve the workplace for nurses.

Last month, the Board approved new security upgrades and Skene says the Provincial handout will help with some of that work.

Facilities in Atikokan, Red Lake and Sioux Lookout will also take the opportunity to improve equipment.
