A $2.8 million boost for Northern Ontario’s tourism industry is being welcomed by the Sunset Country Travel Association.
The money is part of a $30 million jump start from the Province.
Association Executive Director Gerry Cariou believes they will see $100,000 from the new funding program but notes he will have a better idea come April 1st.
Cariou says he is glad to see the Government recognizes that the industry has been suffering since the war on Iraq and SARS but adds that all things considered the Region has weathered the storm.
