Organizations in Sunset Country working to prevent violence against women and children are getting a boost from the provincial government.
Northern Development Minister Dan Newman says new funding will help make communities safer and increase awareness of domestic violence.
The organizations that will benefit from the new funding include Hoshizaki House in Dryden, First Step Womens Shelter in Sioux Lookout, Mary Berglund Health Centre in Ignace, Red Lake Community Counselling and Addiction Services and the Atikokan Crisis Centre.
Each group will receive almost 28-hundred dollars.
