Future of Recycling in the Region

The Northwest Ontario Recycle Association is preparing to ask a Winnipeg company to take over the blue box program in the region.
Dennis Brown is chair of NORA and says a company called Canadian Waste Management did express interest, but wants a firm commitment from municipalities before it put a proposal together.
Brown says municipalities are being given until the end of this month to say yes or no to the proposal.
Last week was the deadline to submit proposals for blue box service from the private sector.
That deadline expired without any bids being received.
