Good Start Before Season For Eagles Football

Dryden Eagles Football team took to the road yesterday and travelled to Kenora to face the Braver Brae Broncos in an exhibition match.
The Eagles opened the scoring with a single and led 1-0 after the first quarter.
Kenora scored on a long pass and then capped off a long drive of their own before the Eagles conceded a safety as the team was deep in their end.
Ending the half 16-1.
Dryden scored in the 3rd quarter on a 32 yard run by Braydon Hansson and the team had some success late in the game with new Eagle players, but were unable to score.
The final score was 16-7 for Kenora.
Eagles Head Coach Geoff Zilkalns says it was a good start before the regular season..
Zilkalns says the team lost focus a bit in the 2nd quarter, but responded to the halftime challenge to become more physical.
He adds the team can expect to get 3 starters back in camp this week and be better aware of what it will take to be competitive in the WHSFL.
