Grassy Narrows Man Gets 9 Years

A Grassy Narrows man who stabbed another man 17 times in the
neck with a pair of scissors and pulverized the victim’s face has
been sentenced to 9 years in prison.
Eli Strong had been charged with second-degree murder but pleaded
guilty to manslaughter.
Court heard he was 18 years old and drunk when he killed Leroy
Kokopenace at Grassy Narrows in 2003.
