The emotion, excitement and anticipation was evident at Thunder Bay airport as about 50 Hammarskjold students and teachers boarded for Vimy Ridge.
They’re on their way to Toronto, then tonight it’s off to Amsterdam, where on Sunday they’ll walk among the gravestones of soldiers who died one hundred years ago this weekend.

Tears were also shed, as some parents couldn’t hold back.

Each student researched one or two soldiers that died that day, that were from this area.
They’ll also be doing some sightseeing.
