Hampton on Kenora policing #1

Howard Hampton is getting involved in the controversial

decision to disband the Kenora Police Service in favour of

the OPP.

The provincial NDP leader has met with concerned Kenora

residents who feel the police costing process was flawed

and lacked public consultation.

Hampton says he’ll bring the issue up with Minister of

Community Safety and Correctional Services Rick Bartolucci.

Among the concerns raised with Hampton is the fact a

former Ontario Provincial Police officer prepared the

final report for council that recommended the OPP’s model

rather than the KPS.
