Hampton Wins NDP Nomination For The Kenora Riding

Former Ontario NDP leader Howard Hampton will be carrying the party banner in the upcoming federal election in the Kenora Riding.

Hampton won the nomination, beating out Kenora resident Pete Edwards after the ballots were counted Friday night.

Hampton says after taking a break from politics, he’s ready to hit the campaign trail again.

The NDP did not release the results of the vote, only saying the traveling ballot box made stops in Sioux Lookout, Dryden, Red Lake and Kenora this week.

The Kenora Riding will be hotly contested with Hampton going up against former Indian Affairs Minister Bob Nault and Natural Resources minister Greg Rickford from the Conservatives.
