Current pot users have been asked by Health Canada for their thoughts on marijuana on many topics including how it effects driving, how it is taken and how socially acceptable it is.
50 per cent of users believe the drug does effect driving.
7 per cent didn’t know and another 19 per cent believe there’s no affect.
Federal Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor says the results show why the government’s investing 46-million dollars over the next five years on public education, awareness campaigns and surveillance.
Other stats from the study include 34 per cent consumed it as food, while another 14 per cent used a vaporizer.
18 per cent also indicated using marijuana on a daily basis.
More than half said they consumed cannabis 3 days or less a month.
28 per cent consider smoking cannabis occasionally for non-medical purposes is completely socially acceptable.
64 per cent who admitted using it believe it could be habit forming, compared to 80 per cent from non-users.
