Most of Northwestern Ontario is now in a drying stage after the area was deluged with rain early this morning.
CKDR Meterologist Bill Laidlaw says a slow moving system from Southern Manitoba marched down the Highway 17 corridor, bringing torrential rain and stiff wind.
Laidlaw says northern communities were the hardest hit.
Perrault Falls received more than 70-millimetres of rain.
Red Lake received 53.3-millimetres, Sioux Lookout 52 and Ear Falls 46-millimetres.
Dryden saw roughly 44-millimetres of rain.

The rain is welcome news for firefighters but the Ministry of Natural Resources will be watching the accompanying lightning strikes closely.
