A group dedicated to highway safety in northwestern Ontario is trying to reduce the number of fatalities this summer.
Sergeant Rod Brown of the O.P.P. says they have distributed about 120 thousand placemats to restaurants in the region, offering tips on how to reduce traffic accidents and auto fatalities.

Brown says last year 14 people were killed in accidents that took place between the May long weekend and Labor Day on northwestern Ontario highways.
